The story behind FibreFeelia

I hope it’s OK with everyone reading this blog that I take a moment to talk a little bit about FibreFeelia.

The Crafts Fair first started back in 2017. It ran for three wonderful years... and then, like so many things, COVID-19 happened. After a long pause, the event made its big comeback in 2022.

Even while things were on hold, a lot was happening behind the scenes. Sew Much More evolved into Laurel Tree Fabric and Fibre, and the person leading the fair changed too. Changes, changes, changes.

But a lot of things stayed the same: great classes, amazing vendors, and fabulous prizes!

This year, if you join us for Feel the Fibre on Friday evening, you’ll leave with prizes! Bring “collectibles” from three previous years, and you’re guaranteed an extra prize. (show picture)

If you visit the Market on Saturday, you’ll be entered to win a prize. Come back on Sunday, and you’ll have a shot at an even bigger one. Best of all, prizes are tailored to the winners:

• Into quilting? Expect a quilt kit.
• Love yarn? You’ll get a kit made just for yarn lovers.
• Not crafty but curious? You’ll receive a beautiful completed item.

No matter what you love, you’ll also get to choose a special "gift technique" on both Saturday and Sunday. This year’s prizes are going to be something special!

And honestly, beyond all the gifts and giveaways, there’s something even better: the chance to learn.

The three classes offered this year are:

• Wet Felting with a Twist – Create something unusual and unique using felting techniques.
• Art Quilts – Use fabric to craft textured, layered artwork. Choose between a Loon in Water or a Moose (or Giraffe) in a Field. It's fabric art like you’ve never seen before!
• Quilted Jacket – Yes, a wearable garment! You’ll make something quilted, beautiful, and completely your own.

Missing out on this weekend would be a real disappointment. We’re talking about an evening of food, socializing, and prizes; two full days of hands-on learning; and, of course, two days of Market shopping, where you’ll find treasures for your next creation—or a finished piece ready to be loved.
